Eusevio’s story of restoration

Eusevio arrived at His Mansion in February 2025, aged 36, after twenty-five years of addiction. He had been sober before, five years when he was younger and two more during a jail sentence, and had relapsed each time. He sought out a Christian program despite not believing in God, describing his state on entering the Resident Recovery Program as having been his own god.

He grew up in a loving Christian home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of first-generation immigrants, and felt he had to outperform his classmates to be accepted. That pressure drew him toward local gangs, where he found the acceptance he wanted. He was drinking and using marijuana by eleven, then selling, and in time addicted to opiates and cocaine, while still considering himself functional and pursuing a degree at Marquette University.

The costs accumulated. He withdrew from university three weeks before graduating. He lost his career, a long-term relationship and his home, and served two years in prison. He describes his lowest point as realizing his parents had lost hope that he would change. A search for help led him to the His Mansion website.

He came to The Hill as a self-described non-believer and skeptic, and says he was shocked to find people who wanted nothing from him and simply showed him the grace they had been shown. He accepted Christ and was baptized in July 2025, graduated in February 2026, and now serves as a Servant Leader. He describes his purpose now as bringing other people to Christ, and his family relationships as reconciled.

This is the program these stories come from

The program is one year, which may vary depending on when a Resident arrives. It is a two-stage program, both 6 months in duration. His Mansion takes in new Residents on a monthly basis. Admission times vary depending on each individual situation.

No, you do not have to be a Christian to join the recovery program. The program is Christ-centered and we do ask that you be open to a Christian approach.
